Our Philosophy

We will provide for you, or at least we will strive to provide for you, the best, the most important, the most interesting and informative, the most entertaining, the most stimulating, and the most life-enhancing site on the internet. We intend to make this site, in your opinion, the reason the internet was invented; nothing more, nothing less. Indeed, anything less, and we're failing - but give us time. This is the site that we want you to return to daily, or at least most often, excepting your work and business system, because we 'feel' that ones Autobiography is somehow important; not only to you as a conscious, living human being, who, naturally, believes that the world revolves around oneself, but because your passage through time on this planet, however brief, is of great consequence. Not necessarily just for your sake, but for the sake of the generations that will descend from you, that you have been a party to bringing forth, that you are responsible for, that will look back on you, to the time of your existence, with thanks, with reverence, with praise, just for having existed and somehow having been accountable for their very being. And that's not necessarily reverence for their genetic make-up - though that may play a part - but possibly for their education, their instruction, their guidance and their wisdom, which is arguably equally as important.

That's basically it. That's what we constantly attempt to achieve. But we can only provide for you the template. What you choose to pass down the generations is up to you. How much time you spend detailing your life, your thoughts, your philosophy, your beliefs and reasoning and why you think and believe the things you do, and how much you value passing on the benefit of your experiences, well ... that's entirely up to you.

About Our Advertising Policy

We do carry advertising, but only of a form that enhances the experience for Members. We are a commercial organisation, but our Members' interests come first. We will not ruin Members' experience by filling screens with adverts that cause a page to take an eon to load. Ease and speed of use is essential, so we will not bog you down with pages of complex graphical ads that flash and dance about for seemingly no other purpose than to capture your attention. The only ads we carry are for products and/or services that are of benefit to Members, such as a will-writing service that you might otherwise have difficulty locating, or a facility to buy the very books, music, films etc that Members have recommended as their favourites. In other words, all the ads that we carry are Posterity recommendations, that are relevant, and we insist that their display is not intrusive. Note: Posterity does not accept responsibility for any difficulties experienced with third party products or services.

Franchise

We are currently in negotiations with various parties in various countries of the world with a view to adapting Posterity according to culture and country. For the time being our UK-based operation is fully capable of handling accounts from around the world. When a site is launched in your home country you will have the option of having your Autobiography transferred to the country of your choice free-of-charge.
