How Secure Is My Autobiography?

The Posterity service is hosted on servers that have security measures in place. Your Autobiography is your site and no one is given access unless you permit it. Access to your site is controlled by using your Membership Password. Should you believe that your Membership Password has become compromised, you can change it at anytime and as many times as you wish from within My Account. You can also change your Guest Membership Password at anytime and as many times as you wish from within My Account. How Many Times May I Change My Password?

You are at liberty to change your Password at any time and as many times as you wish. You will find details of how to do this simply and easily within My Account.

What If I Forget Or Lose My Password?

On request, our server will e-mail your Membership Name, Membership Password and Guest Password to your registered e-mail address, and no other. You will be asked for the security details you provided when you first signed up: a memorable date, and your mother's maiden name. For extra security purposes, which we're sure you will appreciate, only one piece of information can be e-mailed to you within any 24-hour period. It is in your interest to make a secure note of your Membership Name, Membership Password, Guest Password and details of the memorable date that you provided.

Which Internet Browsers Does Posterity Support?

Posterity utilises the latest internet technologies and standards to provide the most compatible environment for all modern web browsers, running on both PC and Apple Mac computers. For best results, please ensure that you upgrade to the most recent version of your favourite browser, and that you check regularly for security and product updates. Posterity does not currently support outdated browsers, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 for Mac, which do not properly implement current standards for HTML, XHTML and CSS.

May I Make Suggestions For Enhancements To Posterity?

I May Spend Some Considerable Time Developing My Autobiography. Can You Assure Me That My Data Will Not Be Lost?

Data on our server is mirrored (i.e. duplicated) locally to avoid the possibility of data loss. Data is also frequently backed-up to a remote and secure storage server for added protection.

I Wish To Include More Images, But The Server Tells Me That I Am Using All My Storage Space. How Do I Increase Storage Capacity?

The cost of increasing your storage capacity can be found within Costs. To increase your storage capacity, go to My Account and click the button "Buy more storage".

What is my Guestbook?

Your Guestbook allows your chosen Guests to leave comments for you after having read your Autobiography. This is an optional facility and is controlled from within My Account. You can choose to include or exclude your Guestbook, and you can also choose whether you wish Guests to read the comments other Guests have written, or keep those comments private. You can change your settings at any time from within My Account.

What happens to my Autobiography if I cease my Posterity Membership, or if I die?

It is our intention that your Autobiography will be held on our server in perpetuity (unless you choose to delete it from within your My Account control panel). Thus, your descendants will be able to access your Autobiography at any time in the future, should you wish them to do so. It is your responsibility to provide them with your access Password.
